A look ahead to the weather for this weekend over the UK. Nothing excitable with our temperatures, London peaking in high teeens, but some parts of Scotland are in for a lot of rain.

Look ahead Weekend weather 16/17th May

Blustery winds, warm sunshine but cool nights. Bit of rain

The afternoon fine weather over England, Wales and eastern Scotland turns cloudy and breezy as heavy rain moves over N.Ireland and W. Scotland for Friday evening. That rain then spreads over Wales, N.England and rest of Scotland during the late evening and night.

There will be a lot of fine and bright weather around the weekend especially on Saturday but rain for some. SE England will have a grey damp start as the overnight rain clears away and things brighten up. Everywhere will be breezy with a fresh to strong West wind for northern areas. Blustery showers will north and west Scotland, a few onto the north coast of N.Ireland but elsewhere it’s dry and bright with sunny spells. In the breeze it will feel cooler; western parts cooler, eastern areas okay. N.Ireland 9-11C, Scotland 8-11C, Wales 11-15, England 10 to 17C

A chilly Saturday night but dry for most. Moonwalkers see here. More hefty showers into the far NW of Scotland and this wet weather will sink southwards on Sunday over N.Ireland, Scotland, particularly the west and perhaps just into Cumbria later. Still blustery with 10 to 12 C in the north, 12 to 17C in the south.
