The warm Spring sunshine will be a distant memory by the end of the weekend as rain is on the way and a cold northerly wind develops on Sunday with wintry showers over northern high ground.
It's been a good run of mostly mild, even warm weather, but April showers have been missing from the picture and they are heading our way over the next few days, coupled with much chillier air as we head into the weekend.
The breakdown gets going tomorrow, as a front over the north of Scotland brings colder air and showers, while a second front pushes in from the south west and could deliver a soaking for western areas through the day.
The colder air slowly heads south and east, with overnight frosts for Scotland, Ireland and N Ireland extending into Wales and all but the south of England by the end of the weekend. And the colder air will be joined by a raw northerly wind on Sunday, making it feel particularly cold, especially compared to the temperatures we've seen the last few days.
Just when you thought you could put the winter woollies right to the back of the cupboard, we even have wintry showers over northern hills at times to complete the change from warm spring sunshine to a much more wintry feel.
