Turning Colder & Less Settled

It's not only the eclipse, it's also the Spring Equinox today but it's not looking very spring like as we head into next week with colder air arriving, along with unsettled, blustery conditions - even some wintry spells for northern high ground.

After the eclipse (or for those of us under the cloud, the slightly darker hour), it's also the spring Equinox today but unfortunately the weather isn't looking too spring like as we head into next week and the high pressure fades it will turn increasing unsettled and colder, and Michael even mentions wintry showers in todays update.

The weekend looks to be generally dry, with some decent bright spells for many areas, though East Anglia and the south east will see more cloud than most, along with a chilly wind and possibly some light showers but improves on Sunday.  Rain does arrive over the north of Scotland later on Saturday and will spread slowly south east during Sunday.

Rain arrives from the north west Saturday evening

Saturday Evening

As we head into the new week, cooler air arrives with a band of rain and showers, turning wintry over the Scottish mountains, and by Tuesday it will turn colder, with wintry showers and snow over northern high ground and will generally be unsettled, blustery and colder everywhere with some heavy showers.

That sets the scene, chilly, with showers along with some brighter spells until later in the week, where it will turn a little milder again, but the unsettled conditions continue.
