After the cold, wintry start to this week, there will be something warmer for the weekend.
The high ground of N.Ireland and W.Scotland has seen 10cm of snow overnight and a few cms to low levels for western parts. March has started on a wintry note and daffodils are behind schedule, thanks to the recent chilly weather.
Even with all the sunshine, it does feel cold in that wind and daytime temperatures are around 5 to 7C but feeling much lower in the breeze. If you find a sheltered spot in the sunshine, then it could feel quite pleasant. The winds will ease off a bit for England and Wales from midweek onwards, as high pressure builds in the south. However, it is back to the blustery weather by Saturday, although with a warmer flow of air. Currently the moist, cold air is coming from the northern Atlantic, nearer Greenland. By the weekend, the air will be coming from the mid Atlantic/Bay of Biscay, still moist but much milder.
