UKV cloud cover %

When looking at the UKV cloud cover it appears that the scale used is inverse to what would normally be expected ie cloud cover is black and clear skies is white

Normally this would imply clear skies but rainfall shows different

I think it can vary to be honest, but yep you're correct that many cloudcover maps do use white as the cloud colour, often when they're over coloured background maps rather than white ones though. 

We are planning through a bunch of changes to the maps at the moment, and as we're likely to be adding in some background shading to the maps, I think we'll probably be switching over to white (or light grey) for cloud rather than the dark grey currently.
