14.8C, 0.2C above the 1991-2020 average. 45mm.

Relatively dry month, rather n-s pattern with the Azores High relatively strong to our south and west. Best month of the summer even if relatively unexceptional.

14.2 and 66.3mm, thanks.

Based on something of a northwesterly tendency showing on current models, I'm expecting it to be relatively cool for recent years. Not really cool, but relatively so. Perhaps more cold nights than normal.

If that sounds terrible, it's actually exactly the same figure as for 1995. A lot of the better Junes, in fact, have relatively low CETs as many of them are half warm and sunny and half dry and cool-ish. Other generally good Junes with CET 14.5 or below include 1984, 1988, 1989, 1994, 1996, 2001 and 2015 (which has come out surprisingly cool, I remember it as a mostly warm month).

By contrast there are some poor or very poor Junes with CETs above 15.0, such as 1982, 2007, 2016 and 2020. All shows that even in summer, the "good"ness of the month is not clearly correlated to CET. I suspect the correlation between mean max and "good"ness is much more pronounced, though.

Bit of a mixed signal for precipitation from the models so am going with dead-on average I guess I'm expecting either anticyclonic or cyclonic conditions with winds varying between north and west to dominate the month.

I know this is the June thread but I've had a feeling about August 2022 for years.... I think it will smash records and go down in legend like 1976....were talking a CET well above 20.C and 40.C being reached.

And will be followed by the coldest December on record with a CET of -2.5C and the Scottish Highlands recording temperatures lower than -30C!  January will herald a major thaw and be milder than average!

14.6 and 98.8 mm. Some flooding rainfalls later and while generally warm, quite cloudy and turning chilly at times last third.

(edit CET and order of entry is now after davehsug at 2320h 31st May although this is the first entry at 14.6 other than 1991-2020)

Possible that the usual table of entries will be a bit late as I may be out all day -- look for it Wednesday morning.
