No amber warning yet

"Strong winds will likely cause some travel disruption and generate some large and dangerous waves around the coasts."

Concerns about coasts as well as wind strength after today's Storm Malik and even Arwen damage

The low which resulted in the Amber warning over NE Britain today was named by DMI< the Danish met.

I thought they only named storms if an amber warning was involved...

Think it got adjusted to " where an amber might be issued"

A bit of a downgrade overnight interesting too see if the amber warnings get downgraded to yellow or not.

Probably more down to the fact that it's so soon after the last one and there's still a lot of damaged trees and people without power. It looks weaker than yesterdays storm.

Very calm in the Western isles at the moment.

Dropped from an average of 30mph gusting 45mph from the south to now at 10mph gusting 18mph.

Pressure has rapidly fallen to 996.1 hPa and still falling.

Winds still southerly, expecting a change in direction and speed very soon

Stornoway airport has reported over 90mph.. a lot of damage across the island. Peak of the storm lasted about an hour and was incredibly intense.

Storm Corrie followed hot on the heels of Storm Malik at the end of January 2022. With already weakened trees, thousands of homes lost power as gusts of 92mph hit Scotland.
