hi
for some reason when i click "next page" in the mod thread mainly, it loads but loads at the bottom, not the top... so i see the bottom of the next page first after years of getting the top of the next page... anyone else have this?

I've tested in firefox and still can't make it do it. If you're running any browser addons/ad blockers and the like, maybe try without those to see if it stops doing it.

It started happening with me too (Firefox browser) a day or two back. It is very annoying. I shrugged it off as it seems nowadays you seem to have to get used to software updates giving you a worst experience than you previously had.

It may be a Firefox bug more than anything else, as there hasn't been a software update recently (beyond the bookmark system, but that won't be related).

I agree Paul. I've had a couple of Firefox updates this week.

I use Firefox and this started happening yesterday, but it's not happened so far today.

That sounds like there may have been a firefox update which fixes it

Doing a search on Google for "why does Firefox go to bottom of new page" returns lots of results from the Mozilla Support Team going back years, so I think we can conclude that occasionally a Firefox update causes this problem (usually messing up an extension), but as Paul says, the problem gets spotted and another update quietly fixes it. Here's an example article from the Mozilla site from a 2011 report:

When I load a new web page it goes to the bottom of the page this has only happened since the last update. I am running Aurora.

I have to say, the cure looks too risky to me. I'd prefer to put up with the issue than risk dropping into safe mode and tinkering around in the depths of the software!

Seems to be an intermittent thing when on the January 2022 C.E.T. and EWP forecast thread, it's fine but when in the Model discussion thread it skips to the bottom

ARGH i've been getting this too for weeks now. Was going to post about it as it's annoying me. Anyone fixed it? It's weird it's only really the mod thread it does it on LOL

I'm also on Firefox and this has been happening to me too. It's not an FF add on issue as the problem remains if I run FF in safe mode. I tried another Invision Community forum and no problems there; it's only this forum and only certain threads. All a bit weird

Having mentioned that I had the issue, but it had cleared up, I'm afraid it's now back again, but as has been said, only on some threads. Strange one.

Same here, only on some threads, although does seem a bit random, hit and miss?

Don't know if it can be of any help, @Paul but I'm led to believe the issue is caused by # in the URL

An example, this should load at the top https://www.netweather.tv/forum/topic/96608-model-discussion-hunt-for-cold-into-mid-january/

But when you have a # in like this https://www.netweather.tv/forum/topic/96608-model-discussion-hunt-for-cold-into-mid-january/page/97/#comment-4636470 it goes to the bottom

The # in the URL is quite common, it's to anchor the link to a certain place on the page. It may be the cause of the issues in Firefox, but as other browsers are using it fine, it's hard to know what to suggest beyond using edge or chrome as an alternative.
