Yep yesterday turned to a much colder feeling about midday.

On the golf course it felt quite raw in the afternoon as the temp dropped from 5C to 3.5C by 15:00.

Today it has continued with the raw feeling and the temp is still only at 2.3C, with dull leaden skies.

Anyone know where this colder air has come from?

The wind is still in the southern quadrant (what there is of it). So is it home grown cold?

MIA

It might well be, the same thought occurred to me whilst I was walking the dogs yesterday.

1.9•C at first light - almost a frost overnight despite the thick cloud cover.

Still only 2.7 now, yesterday’s high was 3.3 with that lazy wind.  Certainly feels like winter.

Homegrown cold under an anticyclone. Similar to heat building under the same setup in summer.

Amazing really just home grown cold under grey skies …..

what could have been had the weather gods allowed. Apart from a balmy 5 days around new year in my back yard it’s been generally cold since late November . If only we could have had a big dumping of snow it would have been around for weeks !!!!

High of 3.7•C (briefly) yesterday, 0.4 at first light this morning, high of 2.2•C today.  Currently 1.5.

Expect a cloudy sub-zero night.  What was it Steve Murr said about the cold??

Since the 3rd of January it has been cold

20 + days of cold occasionally frosty icy weather

so If nothing else it proves it can still be cold for weeks on end !

Snow in the last 3 months too

I hope to God we get some sunshine today.

I can't remember a more bleak and depressing winter as this one, I'm not even bothered if it snows anymore, I just need some variety.

Waking up every day to bleak, grey, nothingness, is just soul destroying.

I've never had SAD before, but I think a lot of people are feeling it here this year, especially with Covid and fear of war with Russia looming. What a mess the world is in atm

Seems a lot more sunnier so far than what the forecasts were predicting for today. Almost clear blue sky here, which is very much welcome. Does also feel a little bit milder. Yesterday really did have quite a chill to it!

2nd day running, a lot of sun. Out of that wind it really felt quite spring like.

Was thinking along similar lines. It’s nice also having the evenings drawing out and the mornings starting to get a bit more lighter.

Certainly a different feel this morning with the wind making an appearance or should I say making itself felt . Gusty at times and temperatures hovering on the mild side at about 11c/52f . Cloudy with the odd bright interval ,this is another face January ☺

Wasn't expecting it as it reached 12.0C here yesterday.

Still sunny but cirrus cloud moving down now.

Aye, dreadful wet day coming up tomorrow, perhaps payback for the dry January? foul day due, windy too, and 10 degrees

Ahead of tomorrow, this must be one of the driest January's on record
