After catacols update earlier I was thinking it was time to start the hunt for thunderstorms and heat. I personally am no where near ready for that….bring on bitter cold and lots of big dumpings

Currently -1.9 °C here, the lowest I've had this winter. It's nice to have something a bit more seasonal, even if it isn't snow.

Got down to -3.5'c last night and there is a good white frost.

Maybe winter is coming after all

Waiting to see if we get a brief spell of snow before the front turns to rain. Looks pretty close to Stoke now. Freezing outside

-2.0•C at sun-up here, still -0.5.

The approaching front has slowed on the Welsh mountains, should hit here about 12.

Yesterday after -1 overnight we had a high of +3.2, yet the sender unit was a metre above a frosted lawn. A classic case of warmed air above a deepening ground cold. Our lawn’s been continuously frosted now for 40 hours.

edit: I can’t add up !

Just got back with the dogs, temp currently sat on 0c and Dp -2c. Looking at the radar something should arrive here in the next 30min so off for a hot bath then legs up..

Settling a bit. Shame it probably won’t last long but I look decently positioned for snow showers tomorrow.

Thick flakes, sticking here too. Shame that heavier PPN in Cheshire isn’t a bit further South!

temps dropping here but DP rising.

Snowing here now. Like others have said, shame it’s due to turn to rain at some point soon.

I’ve seen plenty of forecasted rain to snow events that went wrong and never turned.

Wouldn’t it be nice if, just once, it happened the other way around?

Snowing with quite large flakes and sticking on all surfaces for now which in itself is a bonus I didn’t expect. Suspect only very temporary feature though as slightly milder air is filtering in from the West.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
