As Nick F mentioned earlier in the model thread, the cold front arrives over us Tuesday morning and is starting to show a little more oomf on it

We have driving rain and wind this morning and a temp of 6.5. Not quite what was forecast. It's one of those mornings where it is getting darker rather than lighter.

Well automated met office app going for a few hours of sleet early morning 

then cold and bright then 3/4 hours of light snow showers in evening

Some may be in for a little surprise in the morning, but also I feel there could be some Cheshire gap action to come this week so could be interesting

Colder air starting to make inroads here now, with a short sharp hail shower just.

Happy new year (belated).  Noticeably a bit colder now after the recent mild spell.  

Will be keeping an eye on the radar later/tomorrow for that odd surprise we sometimes get

Well, as per we are stuck at 1.4'c and 1.3'c dp, and as per, it'll refuse to drop below zero on either count, at least whilst there is precipitation about.

Currently dropped to zero after a brief high of 2.0•C.

The ridge to the south at 220masl cars were frosting over an hour ago.  Radar shows Mersey snow showers heading our way.  Fingers crossed.

This shower does have wintriness- very small and wet flakes but it's something. Not a hope of sticking atm but it is getting colder
