Just a shame that somewhere in Britain is not achieving record breaking low temperatures and snowfall totals.....

Yes we finally have cold synoptics but the snow misses us and hits Spain instead! Hoping next winter far better, this one was a shocker and we've had far too many shockers recently, 4 of last 7 near snowless, 1 not much better, 2 average.

Always hoping but after what we've had to endure since 2017/18 (with the exception perhaps 2020/21), I do not have too much confidence!

Can believe it as we're currently in southern France where it's been much cooler than normal (no snow where we are as it's quite low down) but non the less was hoping for some warmth. Had a lot of rain over the last few days. Looking like a slow improvement with temps after Sunday but still a risk of rain at times.

About 90%.That travelling berg could be probably higher than Blackpool Tower ! Could you imagine that flowing past the Humber Flu ?

Haven't heard anything from the MSM about record cold in the Americas, but have heard plenty about the record heat in the middle East. MSM doing what it does best

Apparently, best iceberg season in a many a year.  Amazing picture taken along Iceberg Ally, Little Harbour, Newfoundland.

Hi @Kirkcaldy Weather

Thanks for all your great posts and keeping us so well informed on what’s been happening around the globe. I check in regularly for updates.

I’m guessing you’ve been keeping an eye on things for quite some time and I’m curious as to how this past winter stacks up against previous winters? Has this past winter been unusually  colder and broken a lot more records than previous winters?

I’m aware every year records are broken somewhere but winter 21/22 really seems to have cranked the cold knob up a few notches. Sadly not around these parts though.

TIA Micheal
