Been absolutely full on in the garden and fields this week (and last week tbh)

Almost finished planting all the trees for our rewilding as part of the WildEast project, we're hoping to rewild around 20% of our land. Lots more to do in that department over the winter and spring!

Had a houseful of friends and family for the Flying Scotsman last weekend, thankfully the weather was fabulous on the Saturday when it mattered!

Dull, cloudy start to the day but brightened up and sun came out from about 2:00pm until the sun set.   Had a top temperature of 17.7c at 15:30 after a low of 11.6 between 02:00 and 05:00, currently 13c with humidity at 85%

Wind is 0mph with 2 min average of 1.6 and 10 minute average of 0.6mph.

Pressure: 1016.8hPa slowly rising.

Weather highlight of the day - a pretty sunset .  The rising moon was a big fat treat this evening (although my phone on max zoom just can't deal with the poor light).

Wow @Eagle Eye your sunset is dramatic - fabulous!

Talking of today's sunset - this isn't the correct thread but my son sent me his sunset.  Taken this evening from Dingli Cliffs (Malta) very close to where he lives.  He said Nice sunset tonight.  I pointed the phone, zoomed in and it came out just as we saw it.  Deep red after a hot day.

Dull, gloomy, cloudy with no hint of sunshine yet this morning, temp maybe 13c but doesnt feel it today, feels quite chilly, wondering if this warmer air will be reaching here today as forecast, maybe only when the rain arrives this afternoon probably.

The rain (or what's left of it) looks like a few hours away yet, so still time to do a bit of outside pottering - with emphasis on the word "pot".

Despite the early promise of another sunny day, taken at 07:12.   By 8am this beauty was covered in cloud, which intensified and stayed in place all day 1096411494_2021_10.18Sunrise07_12.thumb.jpg.5c0e820da32429ce1521ac7dc8cbfc06.jpg

Max temperature of 17c at 12:33, currently 16.1C with humidity at 92% feeling very mild and muggy on this evening's dog walk.

Wind currently SW at 4mph.  And it even rained - 2.2mm this afternoon, which isn't going to add much to the very low October total.  Pressure currently 1013.6hPa holding steady.

Now here is a question. I don't think I have ever woken up to a temp of 18 degrees in October as they said on the beeb forecast Sunday night this feed must be very long to the south west blimey

This is quite eerie weather here.

Grey skies and that warm wind. The wind has ramped up in the last hour and it's 19 degrees.
Feels very strange.

The sun is trying to fully come out and now I actually see blue skies unlike the last few days where it brightens up but goes back to being overcast. If it's going to be sunny THIS is the day we want it to be sunny the most and get the last amount of warmth this year

Crazy 18C outside considering it's 19th Oct, completely grey and blowing a hooley. Somewhere must surely hit 20C if we get the forecast cloud breaks this afternoon? So, today to be enjoyed if you can, before this very warm +14C 850hPa tropical maritime airmass (temp at approx 1,500m) is replaced by a -2C Arctic Circle sourced airmass by Thursday. Thicker coat at the ready!

Temp up to 19c now and the sun is just beginning to break through the clouds, which is going to make it feel very warm for this time of year, winds are definitely picking up now too. Got thunderstorm symbols for early tomorrow morning on the ever trusty Bbc weather app.
