Wind is dying down here now I think, but it's left a power cut in lyddon, alkum valley and a  few trees down over roads.

About to brave the rain/wind for evening dog walk, gonna get soaked, but still rather this than 30c heat  Autumn has definitely arrived, now hurry up for the snow, which according the express (I believe it was the express) is coming in a matter of weeks and we will all be snowed in!

Got soaked here too, only out with the dog for 20 minutes. It took two large towels to dry the poor boy.
Max temp today 15C at 16:27 windy this morning, now 3mph, average over 2 minutes = 4.5 and over 10 = 4.6 mph. Pressure 984.5hPa falling rapidly. 9.2mm of rain has fallen today.  Odd, it certainly felt a lot more had fallen. Especially when out splashing through puddles earlier. Got soaked and cold, which was a good reason to light the fire

Looking like a decent period of wind for coastal East Sussex tomorrow evening... Seems like the general consensus among models is 60mph+ around here! I reckon a walk along the seafront will be in order.

That explains why I can’t stand upright, made it to the Victorian shelter that plays music, with our very late lunch. Sea looks amazing

Wind just whipped up again here

Hasn't done so here yet. If the wind has changed to SW Dover is sheltered by Folkestone, it's alway less here at that point.

For the record, some stats from yesterday (Sat 02 Oct). Wettest in the south of the Region with around an inch (25mm) of rain for many places in Sussex, Surrey and Kent. But once again not much for parts of Norfolk.

18.5 mm in the manual outside from last night.

Looks like winds peaked around 19:15 here with Manston recording 49 mph at that time. It matches roughly when the lowest pressure was last night at 19:20 which was 984.7 hPa.

Very late maximum as well at 20:29 at 17.3°C.

A much calmer day so far, going to venture out in an hour or so. Very windy early evening, I could hear the wind blowing the trees. It's quite therapeutic listening to it, as you're comfortable indoors

Just gone through mid Essex too, I am still drying out from the football match yesterday. I was on car park duty after helping to set up the ground and stewarding during play. Also I put fencing and dugouts away post match. Never in my 74 years have I been so soaked to the skin. As soon as I got home I had to remove all my wet clothing in the porch as I would have been dripping rainwater throughout the house and the boss was not keen on that happening, bless her,

yep around 2:30 the wind was suddenly picking up and at times as strong as yesterday, there wasn't much rain though at times it did come down heavy. I'm sorry everyone, my mum put out her washing as it was completely blue skies when we had lunch today

Lovely sunny day; becoming windy from noon with max wind of 28 mph at 13:00

Max temp today was 17C at 15:04. currently 13C and felt chilly in the wind when dog walking around 7pm

Humidity at the moment is 80%

Wind currently 7mph, average over 2 minutes = 6.8 and over 10 minutes = 7.1mph

Pressure: 1003.5hPa rising slowly after a low of 984.1hPa at 7pm yesterday evening

No rain has fallen in the last 24 hours.

Weather highlight of today was the sun and late afternoon hint of nearby bonfire - love this autumnal fusion of sun, warmth, clear air and evocative scents.
