Holy crap. Look at that thing go!

So pretty, yet so far north! (OK, the angle exaggerates the appearance, but even so...)

A wild spell overnight for Newfoundland with heavy rain, strong winds, trees down and power outages as Larry moved over the SE and transitioned.

"Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.
Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds." CHC

Next up Greenland which comes under the Danish Meteorological Institute. DMI   https://www.dmi.dk/groenland/

From google translate

DMI "On Sunday, the wind will increase from the northeast and will, according to DMI´'s high-resolution weather model (750 meters), reach gale force during the day, and there may be gusts of storm strength. East of Tasiilaq, above sea level, there will be a regular storm, perhaps close to a hurricane. The strong wind from the northeast is sometimes referred to as Neqajaq."

Greenlandic name for a barrier wind along the coast from the NE which brings precipitation, Why is Larry moving up the east coast of Greenland?

"The explanation must be found in the coastal topography, where the high mountains act as a wall that causes the air to bend to the south at the same time as it accelerates violently, with strong winds as a result. This wind phenomenon is referred to by meteorologists as Stewing Wind. It is not uncommon for old hurricanes in summer to draw attention to far more northern latitudes than what is usually associated with these weather systems. On 19 October 2016, it was the former tropical hurricane Nicole that sent the wind up into the red field in Southeast Greenland. At that time, the gusts reached close to the storm in Tasiilaq and in Kulusuk, 20 km east of Tasiilaq, there was a storm with gusts of hurricane force!"  Meteorologist Lars Henriksen, Friday 10 September 2021 DMI

There is also a local katabatic wind called Piteraq (which can follow such a storm), from the NW, can be warm in summer, cold in winter and also be destructive. https://www.yumpu.com/en/document/read/18230716/the-observed-climate-of-greenland-1958-99-dmi-teknisk-rapport

Last advisory issued, Larry has gone post-tropical albeit sustained winds were still near 70mph near the core so a powerful extra-tropical storm.
