I wonder whether we are both going to be woken in Crewe as it moves through!

A possibility.

More worried about my younger brother who has a theory test in Hanley early on in the morning, then has to bike down the A500. I've told him it would be better if he could get a lift.

I was aware of some blustery wind pre-dawn but flooding more of a problem, particularly in the dip near Tesco on the Nantwich Road. My sympathies to those who have to commute to work this morning!

Looks like our area is in the 30% risk zone for convective weather today which is the highest we have had for a while so maybe something will develop later.

seems it has developed here.   Reports of tornado in Cleethorpes this morning.

Also reports tornado in east riding near hull done damage.

Vehicles have been flipped onto their sides and many homes damaged following what is understood to be a 'tornado'

I did think I heard a very faint rumble about an hour ago, but dismissed it.

Just look at all the small circulations in and around the Humber at the moment on the NW Radar. Zoom in on the Humber area and run the last hour's animation. Outside at the time it was getting dark with low banks of stratocumulus and rain cores as this band passed with some very heavy rain.

Brilliant storm over north Wales. Got a direct hit from it, constant forks and one within about 100 meters.

Oh! We just had several almighty flashes of lightning and loud thunder here in Reigate as the front passed through! Forked lightning with one crack right overhead. Nice gift towards the end of the season!

Had quite a lively thunderstorm an hour or so ago. Squally heavy rain with occasional quite close discharges.
