I've just seen the blitzorung lightning maps, getting my phone out soon, also this seems like the 2019 set up when their was a pretty small storm drifting towards us but it was still pretty decent.

Some mackerel skies appearing now to my W and SW, with what looks like some robust Ac (possibly AcCas) further off in the distance between the trees.

None of this activity is present on the arome 12z, models could be completely useless this evening. There’s some vertical cloud growth from the mid levels just inland from me currently.

Nice view of the island cells from West Wight where it's bone dry! One big boom of thunder and a notably high base on them

So this is what an MCS is like!

It’s horrendous frequent lightning and heavy rain.

You were lucky enough to have a nice fresh one, most of the time they end up as a gloopy, cloudy mess resulting in overcast skies and not much else!
