Hmm, a smallish MCS has formed over north western France and is propagating NNE currently. A few amount of lightning activity however I’d expect lightning to wain as we start to approach diurnal minimum. tbh I’d expect lightning only to track to the east of the red arrow. SW Wales might be in with a decent shout.

I take back what I said, that’s developing nicely. Still I don’t like it when storms explode in that location, usually means they are matured or fading when they reach our shores.

literally looks great for tomorrow into Thursday overnight period across the Home Counties. How come there isn’t more of a fuss being made about this?

* THERE MIGHT BE A THUNDER ! *

Dan makes a mention of it in his update this morning but again I think some are expecting more than what might actually occur , a tempering of expectations might be required

Wondering what trickery this lot is going to perform to avoid giving me any action. The big storm/MCS surely will die into a damp mess so I get wet at work without anything interesting.

I guess the line of cells ahead of it will just go to my west by about 30 miles (another common thing).

Quite possible is that it will then also flare up for Dorset eastwards with nothing for here (just like the plume like attempt in July).

Turning black as ace of spades and a few rumbles. I’ll nip up top of car park to see what’s happening

Looks like a mast has been hit on Derrys Cross roundabout. 100m away. Whole area just shook!

So this is what an MCS is like!

It’s horrendous frequent lightning and heavy rain.

Yup a few flashes towards Saltash and Callington. I thought it was calming down here but another massive rumble and flash close by.

Wow, what a start to the day!

Flash flooding going into Kingsbridge from West Alvington about 8.15. My wife works at school and they have been flooded in some parts of the building, but thankfully not too serious.

Then plenty of forked lightning which we had an amazing view of parked up the top of town.

Now round two in Salcombe! Less frequent lightning but heavy rain. Here's a nice shot looking down towardsNorth Sands with a beautiful cloudscape (photo doesn't do it justice)
