Found an excellent cafe next to the M1 near Dunstable. Won’t be chasing further than Milton Keynes, would be surprised if there isn’t decent stuff a little later round these parts

The cells currently forming over Wales are what EURO4, 2km WRF-NMM and AROME are forecasting to become the monsters to hit EA/Lincs this afternoon, with the DLS increasing.

Already some corkers in the N Midlands and North West. Had a feeling as mentioned over the past couple of days that today was going to be a good one.

Beautiful anvil on this storm, I think this is actually the Macclesfield cell not the Derby one....

Peak District is making some of the magic it seems, a lot of storms that pass through or near to it got intensified, looking at Buxton/Chapel storm and the North Notts/Derby Storms.

Hopefully more areas can catch a storm later too, as its a good chance they will be severe. Also clouds going different directions here at different levels.

Currently camping right in the middle of storms in every direction pretty much but not close enough to me. If this doesn't say storm shield I don't know what does lol

Derbyshire storm just went more or less over head here. Working on trees for the power lines. Needless to say work has to stop till it's passed so I get to watch bit of an aqua tint as the storm approached but no hail here so may just have missed the core. Couple of cgs seen but mostly IC flashes. Hoping there will be more!

An insane amount of strikes on the radio. Very close as well. Occasional distant rumbles from various directions.

Distant rumbles now, very windy now. It’s bin day today so the bins are not having a good time

Just had a little chase on that storm north of Derby with my 6 year old son and he loved it.Headlights on full along with the wipers on the A38 North towards Alfreton.Biblical rain and gusty winds with decent sheet lightning. The temperature fell from 17 to 10 degrees. It is currently 11 as I write this sitting in Ripley.

Looks like we are in the section to the south below where all of the action is taking place currently.

Maybe the strikes in the southeast of Ireland are a sign of things to come for our area later.

LThe Sun is still out very strong here and it’s approaching 20°C. No rain for a few hours everything still passing to my N. Have a feeling it won’t be long though.

Had a brief spell of lightning and large hail, currently in a bit of a lull before that more intense cell pushes NE from Northwich/Warrington
