There’s been some consistent thunder around the Sefton coast and some to the east of my location 53.5°N 3.0°W in the last 30 minutes but now it’s decreasing.

I live in Deeping St James, just north of Peterborough. Where would you recommend I head to for a good chance of a storm?

I would say where you are already has a good chance but other good options are up towards Lincolnshire or Nottinghamshire

Very exciting day for areas north of London today! Good luck all and stay safe.

Proverbial a**e just fallen out of the sky here but alas no thunder or lightning (accepting the risk here is low at best).

The squally line approaching Salisbury currently should make its way here later today so that might be interesting for more southern areas later.

Not wanting to jinx it but lightning alert app has just gone off on my phone, with the first cell of the day heading in this direction.

Not sure if this is the one incoming, or the one that’s just passed.

Some really impressive skies around here at the moment. ?

Sadly haven’t heard any thunder today… But my lightning detector thingy on my phone has gone off quite a few times… So there is still plenty of hope. ???

I think those of us over here could be in for a cracker of a day, as I'm reminded of September 2012 -- LP, cold uppers and a fresh SW breeze, sky already looking hugely unstable -- as we had a few humdingers back then. ⚡

New strikes to my east, still stuff to my south-west. Sun out strong. It’s going crazy.

I can’t see nothing firing up in south east Wales today just the odd heavy showers last few days everything has missed us by a few miles

All the best for you on the other side of Nelsons county! Won’t be until 2-3pm until we can start to monitor some established storms due to come through I’d say. But anything could erupt very suddenly from now on in. Just some residual clag to get rid of, passing through Lynn at the moment.

Lightning every few seconds on radio. The cell in Warrington is a new one I think unless it’s the old one back building or a daughter cell.
