Just one short sharp shower and radar showing nothing much coming our way. Maybe tomorrow then it looks dry again after that.

Is that just cloud or is that a tornado coming down above Brum city centre in your photo ?

Is that a funnel over that tallest building or just scud?

Thought today was going to be a lot better for thunder here but we have had nothing so a bit of a let down.

Looks like the storms are forming more inland to the northeast of us and the flow is moving in that direction so any storms that do form are just moving away from us.

Last chance for more thunder now is tonight and tomorrow.

Been a cracking day over here today.

As for tomorrow, I may well head out on a storm chase, seen as it may be the last day for a little while.

I’m thinking that Lincolnshire looks set up to be the prime spot, Sleaford area towards areas such as Horncastle towards Skegness look set to be primed going by most models. I shall see and see where we are at tomorrow morning.

A heavy shower just to my east, and it looks very dark but no thunder in it. Nothing here as yet. I expect heavy showers and thunderstorms will continue for a few hours yet though.

Considered chasing earlier but decided not to as there was a chance almost anywhere. However I was going to head to Grimsby as somewhere round there always seems to be a good spot in these setups. Often late on in the evening as Cape drifts east. Think I'd have been feeling pretty smug right now! But I'm not, I'm in Belper

I can verify, followed that up the A5, turned right and got caught in the monsoon, drains lifting in the road through the Bringtons.

Long distance shot...

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
