I think there must be a delay on my rain gauge as it is up to 14.4mm of rain per hour now even though it's raining less than it was earlier.

No thunder yet but i imagine chances of this will raise as the afternoon goes on.

This is a nice storm. Lightning  about 1 every minute now. Moving away to the north-east now. Can hear another cell somewhere to my south-east.

Its pretty cloudy here now after that heavy rain.

Unless it's more sunny to our northeast and the clouds can form there and then move this way i don't think our chances are as high today for thunder as we don't have the heat of the sun to get things going.

Storm now moved away, sun is out; rain has just stopped. Can still hear a few powerful CGs over towards Newton-L—willows and St Helens direction.

It looks like the south is drying up, starting from the south coast and progressing northeastwards.  The really juicy stuff is further north.

That's the drought over in Northern Ireland. Three months of heat and no rain.

Drought being broken big style with a large thunder storm and torrential rain..

I'm enjoying a nice walk with 360° views at Upper Padley, waiting for whatever comes our way over the coming few hours.

It's fairly hazy looking to the SW (albeit fairly threatening) with the best cumulus to the north with clearer skies ⛅
