can't see anything from warrington yet - just overcast.. hardly feels warm enough for anything to get going here...
certainly nothing worth doing timelapses on

Still haven't had a single drop of rain where I am since the heatwave began.

Got my fingers crossed for today though.

(p.s. the radar is a lie , shows me under the blue stuff but it's just a bit misty, like a heavy muggy haze.  )

Same here just up the road. No rain in 3 weeks. Have a bad feeling that we will avoid the worst again today and have just maybe one or two light showers. Still better than this muggy haze though.

More lightning to my south-west, 30 km.

Temperature shouldn't be an issue today. We require a temperature of about 19c to get things going. It's currently 17c here but widely 19-20c for places west of me.

Also had thunderstorms between 2.30 and 4 am, though not as dramatic as last Friday night. The 5 days of thunder heard this month is now more than the entire year 2020 and the highest in a calendar month since May 2018.

Really kicked off NE Wales now, sferics every few seconds on the radio.

Every 5-10 seconds now, going crazy.

BTW it’s 19°C here

Continuing dull, grey and boring in Norfolk with a chilly wind. Probably the least convective year I've ever had in the 35 years I've lived here.

This storm appears to be re-igniting now it’s getting over towards the Wirral! ⛈??

That storm is so close to me now, can’t hear it yet though. No doubt it will hit Crosby again. Sun is out here.

usually i'd be annoyed about my area not getting anything but I'm not because we've had the majority of the storms lately so the rest of the country can have a bit now, though I wish this overcast skies can bugger off

It comes to a point where I'm having too many storms which sounds ridiculous but I'm so tired right now, I just want normal British weather lol.

The EURO4 has a decent handle on today's convective potential, I feel:

It even picked up the early morning storm around the Nottingham area...

image.thumb.png.b1e97d44732c67beb703da5567230fd6.png

Then we have the current developments, focusing on North Wales and the eastern coast of Ireland...

image.thumb.png.b4ce3f6040134f6187f6190ed3558732.png

It isn't until much later on this afternoon and well into the evening that we see more extensive developments over central parts of Northern England running up to Scotland (storms over high ground in Scotland initiate a little earlier, FYI)...

image.thumb.png.988e3e5579e9ec81e8635ca36c85ef96.png

So for those currently waiting impatiently, there is plenty of time left with more widespread initiation not expected for another few hours
