Wild winds and crashing waves might greet you at Freshwater, or perhaps a serene calm perfect for paddleboarders. What’s it like today?

Seeing loads of lightning right now but there is so much fog and low cloud at the same time, trying to work out where the main of it is coming from, either to our west or our South South West

I'm sat in the car near Avon beach, intensity keeps picking up and dropping off again

Southampton and the Isle of wight might be in for something in the next hour or so.

This is a decent cam at Ventnor, positioning is a bit awkward with the street lights, can still see lightning from it

Just a few occasional closer strikes here with the main area flashing away to the SE near the IOW

There appears to be some ended lightning in the messy precipitation behind the main storm, plus there are  quite a few showers to come in the early hours, so don't be surprised if you get something between now and day break.

Im well happy either way, totally didn't expect this at all!

The Derby cell has initiated, but annoyingly for me in the space of 30 minutes it's gone from relatively clear skies overhead to now being overcast with low murk covering the hills  otherwise i'd be visually seeing the top of the cell.

I know, when I ventured out around midnight, I was surprised how warm it was!

I'm back home now, as I have work in the morning, and I'm not waiting up to see if the shower following on behind will turn electrical ⚡⚡⚡

This is about as exciting as the passing storm was, all cloud to cloud  but still nice

Captured on my phone so the quality is not very good.

And finally, Good luck to everyone wishing for some storms, tomorrow should be Decent for people who have missed out up until now, keeping my fingers crossed ??
