Sky’s very dark to the west, but we have an easterly wind so it’s moving away.

Three rumbles of thunder, then heavy rain. I started drowsing off in the patio doorway to the sound of the rain.

Plenty of dark and impressive cloud going past. Funny, some of the scud looked exactly like a giant V sign as it marched past our house.

So much for a storm! Oh well.

Suns out but too little too late and the arome 12Z has entirely removed any development west of the current line - absolutely pants. Still not seen a close cg in a few years.

3 hours of constant heavy rain with thunder & lightning in my patch of N London. Incredibly loud thunder causing everything to shake at times.

Can now hear fire engines darting about dealing with the flash flooding. Would be interested if someone has rainfall accumulation data! I can see some local stations had 2-4 inches of rainfall..

Think I could be in with some luck in Luton. But then again knowing my luck it’ll fizzle away to nothing or miss me by a few miles and slide away S!!!!!

but let’s not jinx it

Not a single drop of rain here. Almost got a storm, but it missed me. Still see some storms in the distance, but all of them are moving away.

lightning activity is waning now across most of London, going strong north of London and in East Anglia though

Finally had a decent storm, the first of 2021. Lasted
about 2 hours with fairly intense rainfall but never anything exceptional. Lightning about every minute at the peak with a few good CGs. I'd say it looked better on the radar than it was.

I'd give it a 6/10, definitely one I'll remember.

My sister is in Herts and just had an absolutely crazy storm there. Kitchen flooded, water pouring through the roof and the chimney was collapsing.

She just had time to run across the street with her mother-in-laws dinner before the next heavy rain hit.

Met Police just declared a "Major Incident" for London due to flooded roadways and multiple persons trapped in vehicles in different locations.

Hi Homerr,  battening down now, looks like it could get nasty and can hear the thunder now, you’re not far away from here

Looks like it's all fizzling out ahead of getting to us

Big stuff to the north east again on this storm train. Still only spitting here but sounds if some areas are having a real bad time....
