Had some rumbles of thunder to W or SW after about 2 or 3 minutes of torrential rain, all in the past hour.

I had a few distant rumbles, but that was it. Didn’t get any rain or hail. Storm was too distant.

Well, the line of storms stretches to within touching distance of Norwich and then stops. Couldn't make it up.

I see London and Kent getting loads of action, yet again.

My OH said he heard a rumble at home, think it's probably nr Attleborough where it's raging (allegedly) according to someone. Doesn't look particularly raging on radar..

Looks like a distant line of storms is forming. Too bad the wind is pushing them away.

This might sound like hyperbole but the cell I can see off to my North is looking potentially severe to me. There has been quite a bit of scud at times and there is far more lightning than the detectors would have you believe. I would keep my out for a possible funnel!

even though this was 40mins ago, this hook-like on the radar is something u see with a tornado, I know its not but gives the same picture u see with it with supercells

Is there any free-to-access data for radar rainfall accumulation?

I think you must have forgot the heavy rain you had 3 weeks ago, it was the night you sadly missed a lightning producing cell.   Hope this helps you feel a little more positive.  It's a screen shot, you may have to tap it to read it, I don't know if you can quote from an old thread.

Looks like most lightning activity is confined to the eastern extent of the line, looks like the rank outflow might reach me fairly soon. Joy.

This was the storm that cut my wi-fi,  nowhere as frequent lightning and thunder as the one yesterday morning I recorded, but still some great thunder

A storm has formed off to the north. Formed really quickly as well.
