just checking the daily maximum temps, and liverpool airports recorded 38c at 1400 hours!

surely that cannot be right, its over 10c higher than all the surrounding areas..

This has been discussed in the ramp thread and also the North West regional thread- there is clearly a problem with the station.

I've been making the point about the Liverpool Airport station for months- it's consistently been miles higher than nearby stations. There is nothing particularly favourable about the location either- it's more exposed than many of the inland sites nearby.

Comical- it was 31C at 14:20 (still miles too high) and then half an hour later apparently went up to 38C before quickly dropping down to 34C. 34C with 45% relative humidity by the way- quite something for the UK

It's been far too high for months in all honesty but it took people ages to agree I had a point about it.

34C at 1430 Z

About low tide so much of the estuary at the side of the control tower, will be mud flats, so 34C seems okay

I can't understand why no one has sorted it out by now. Then again nothing surprises me in this country.

Up to 17th July, Liverpool Airport is supposedly had a July mean max average of 23.8C

Whilst Manchester Aiport is 20.9C?

Not a chance.

Clearly, and XCWeather.co.uk don't show the temps from there anymore.

True, although I often think Manchester Airport is a bit low- it's consistently cooler than Rostherne nearby by day (although slightly warmer at night). Rostherne is averaging 22.4C for July so far.

I can recall Liverpool Airport reaching 50c in January . Thought that was probably a mistake, what it’s been showing for the past few month is evident that there is a problem with that station.

No idea why this is still allowed to report data. It's a very broken site.
