So average and very dry here so far.

What a static month it is turning into CET wise, very little variation day to day, milder nights cancelled out by cool days.. next week may see a change in fortune, milder days cancelled out by cooler nights, not expecting any significant change - CET  a flatline... 

Still waiting for some warmth this month, not seen 22 degrees yet, very poor!

EWP now around 43 mm and looks to add only 10 mm or so. We have only two forecasts lower than 55 mm, and top score at the moment is a tossup between WeatherEnthusiast91 (64 mm) and Bobd29 (43 mm).

Sunny Sheffield up to 16.3 -0.3C below normal. Rainfall up to 22.9mm 33.3% of the monthly average.

Yesterdays heavy and storms produced 2.2mm of rain. No real rain forecast in the forecast so a dry month coming up and a dry summer over all.

Minima continues to keep CET above average, whilst maxima lags below. Can't see much of a change rest of August. Perhaps a slight increase thanks to higher maxima but much will depend on cloud amounts overnight. In any clear skies minima likely to be a little below average.

Yes it's been a classic case of high minima keeping the CET up, thanks to a very cloudy August. Gavin Partridge (forecaster on YouTube) reckons it could be the top 20 dullest August on record, up there with 2008 and 2011 which were also exceptionally cloudy Augusts.

Hard to say that so early- it's glorious here today so I'd expect at least 10 hours of sun today.

A bit of uncertainty about cloud amounts for the rest of the week, but today has been sunnier than forecast for many so I imagine the rest of the week could follow.

It's going to be a dull one but probably not to 2008 levels.

Suspect the headlines for August 2021 will be 'rather dull, average rainfall and temperatures'. Instantly forgettable month in every way.

I can see the CET holding steady over the next few days- a lot of cloud cover over the CET zone overnight which is keeping nights warm.

I know this is before corrections, but the lowest daily figure is 15.2 and the highest 17.6.  Has there ever been a month with such little fluctuation?  Probably won't fluctuate much more between now and months end?
