Those are warm max/min figures for your neck of the woods TM. We reached 29.3C here yesterday which put it as the 9th warmest July day in 42 years for us, so I imagine >28C is quite notable for you?

A hot and oppressive day today with almost unbroken sunshine. Warmest day of the year by a long way. Currently 28.7°C Yesterday‘s max was 26.7°C. Temperature going through some  fluctuation due to the  seabreeze which occasionally pics up strength.

I noticed Liverpool Airport is currently reporting 32°C. It’s been over estimating temperatures by a lot for a few months now ever since when it was reporting crazy numbers one day I think when they were doing maintenance on the equipment.

Interesting  you mention that. July in each of the last 3 years has exceeded the value recorded yesterday but prior to 2018  it was exceeded only 5 times in July since 1977. Allowing for a small temperature differential due to a site move of only 100 linear metres, but to a more sheltered location, 4 years ago the temperature at the current site would have to reach 28.8c to get into the top ten July maxima in the last 44 years.

I would imagine there are a number of occasions when it's hot here but you have a sea breeze kicking in during the afternoon so perhaps really high maxima are about as common at your site as here despite the difference in altitude.

The current temperature is 27.6c so there's still time for today to exceed yesterday's value.
