A cold and exceptionally wet day, with 24 hour rainfall totals of 50mm plus widely recorded in the area, more than the average total for June and probably the wettest June day on record here. PWS's to the south of Reading have reported more than 80mm, and our rough and ready rain gauge shows 69mm. The rain started around 6pm yesterday and finally started to ease around 3pm today, although we still have patchy light rain even now. Maximum 16.3 (in the early hours), minimum 12.4 (this afternoon). Wind light N.
