I'm humbly grateful for the 2 rumbles of thunder earlier. In Norfolk that counts as an epic storm....

I'm surprised, I remember getting a fair number of thunderstorms in Norwich when I studied at the University of East Anglia around 2007-2011.

Thunderstorms absolutely everywhere in the Midlands........ Except where I am. Somehow, we have missed them all. Got a bit cloudy but that's it. Its literally a joke. We need the rain.

I remember having that kind of pain on 27 May 2017.  I was living in Exeter back then, but had gone to my parents' house in the Thirsk area and so missed a big thunderstorm over the South West.  And then when the Thirsk area got hit by a big thunderstorm the next day, I was visiting grandparents in South Shields and so missed that one as well!

So far it's fair to say that Lincoln has been serving me pretty well since I moved here on the 9th April.

Widely renowned as one of the most thundery areas of the country. Easily the best for homegrown setups.

Got my eyes on this lot, not sure if there will be much in terms of lightning if they keep the strength up

Think you need to expand your red warning box

Here's hoping you cop a storm this evening

Got potential here for up to 4 showers/thunderstorms

One just blew up near Retford and another over Nottingham too. Looks like both are headed straight for me

Peak storm action for me was late 80s to late 90s/early 2000s. It has dropped off considerably since then

Occasional thunder to the west, particularly around the Oughtibridge area looking at the intense cell that has developed on radar.

Not looking promising for North Yorkshire, looks like the cells are doing to die down, most lightning activity seems to be Midlands and Lincs

This has been a hefty thunderstorm indeed - I only turned on the England match 13 minutes in because three of the lightning strikes were so close that I felt I had to turn the electricity off!  It's still rumbling away now, but more distant.

An alright storm in Nottingham, lots of rumbles and one really deep and long rumble accompanied by a brilliant flash. Moving northwards to Mansfield now
