These storms moving in now have a severe look about them (elevated though of course). Whole sky is a wash with frequent lightning and the sky has had a notable green tinge for the past 15 - 20 mins!!

Just had an absolute deluge of monumental proportions in Bexhill… Huge tropical style raindrops that made an audible thud when they hit the ground, paths became flooded in minutes.

I would guess 25-30mm in the space of around 20 minutes? If anyone could get a radar estimated accumulation grab I would highly appreciate it!

Have come inside now as I think I’ve taken liberties with Mother Nature enough.

Been stood under amazing IC lightning for the past hour, spidering across the sky! Very high elevated crackling lightning with occasional louder rumbles. Lightning however has started to get brighter and thunder louder with a few more CGs so have come inside.

So far I’ve had an hour of constant thunder. The rain hasn’t made an appearance yet. Looks like it’s going to get more severe here shortly as it appears to be knocking on the door of Ashford.

It's started raining here but the radar doesn't look like it'll produce anything lightning. I'm hoping what's come ashore in East Sussex might intensify and head this way.

I hope so as not yet had anything in 2021 despite all the warnings!

There are some awesome CGs raining down at the moment. Might have got one or two on my camera phone.

OMFG - one just landed about 100m away as I was typing just then! I was supposed to tee off 8 mins ago

Ben, you wouldn't know what a bust is unless you lived in Norfolk

Great to see that the radar doesn't always paint a true reflection.

Just looks like a decaying mass of moderate rain as it nears London with hardly any strikes detected? I guess you are seeing CC lightning?

Just seen you have CG

Wasn’t expecting anything here this morning. Had a good few rumbles and see one flash of lightning which is good enough for me!

Some mammatus from earlier after Mother Nature’s alarm clock woke me up.

Absolutely nothing of note here. It's that calm I'm going to take the dog out.

Was just outside videoing the backside of the storms after 2 hours now the rains stopped, and another cell is now developing behind it!
