Don’t know if I’m ready to head out yet or the beach yet, guessing beach head would spoil my view

Not sure, I can even see the odd flash to my sw here in Dover, I'm sure you'll see something, just not sure how much.

It’ll be a first for us. So when you see two small wet things that’s us

Someone please tell me if it’s worth going to the beach right now or if I should wait a bit longer

According to what I can see on the lightning strikes the electrical energy has dissipated dramatically. Mostly just a large rain mass with a few rogue cells which will produce some CG. Can't see much significant developing now given the loss of electrification.

that was always gunna be the case, lightning out at sea, makes landfall and lightning activity dramatically slows down and then it just turns into convective rain........

people always get excited on here for no reason lol

I guess sporadic electrification is possible inland in the early hours as the high theta-w / cape moves inland. Other than that, look to the M4 corridor tomorrow afternoon for some slow moving multi cell activity.

@LightningLoveryou didn’t tell me it was windy out here though from the few flashes we’ve caught just walking down I think it’s worth it lol

Bit more than the odd CG down here on the coast, the detectors aren't picking up a quarter of what I'm seeing....

Hard to tell whether half the people on this forum are just miserable gits or wind up murchants.

All going to forecast so far - First rain band destabilised along the leading edge of the plume and has died out somewhat in terms of lightning, second round should have a lot more oomph to it.

Early hours of the morning, as has been the case since the beginning.

No, just a weather enthusiast sharing his opinions on the situation. Lightning has yet to strike land.

Looks like there are plenty of intense storms over the Channel but lightning detectors are showing relatively little activity..

So the storms are elevated and should arrive to produce a nice light show

Which has always been what's forecast?

Yeah, it's not a classic for sure . Sporadic lightning early hours south of M4 is a good bet imo.

I know that the system is a slow mover so chances persist well into the early hours. Just saying that this system so far is on the weaker side of projections. Statistically speaking this happens roughly just under half of the time (correct me if I'm wrong).
