    Yes a excellent viewpoint from there of whatever weather is coming from the channel. We will be down there on the 7th August for out hols (not the Cumberland Hotel)

    Camera batteries on charge, phone on charge, action cam on charge. Although as per usual, it approaches Hastings and dies out and peps up again toward Kent/inland.

    I'll be down Bottle Alley west of the pier if it does kick off here.

    Sferics in the channel plodding along nicely however they appear to concentrating and becoming more active at the eastern end….

    The big downturn in sferics activity near Cherbourg, radar indicates a much messier picture than 20mins ago…

    Does anyone know why the channel often does this? Elevated convection in theory shouldn’t be affected by cold water, but I’ve seen elevated storms die a death as soon as they dip their toes in.

    storms seem to have zero issue exploding to life in the North Sea so what is the issue with that thin strip of water?

    Yup it’s struggling expect the radar returns to start ‘mushing out’
