I could have sworn I heard a rumble of thunder coming from your direction haha, guess I must of been dreaming. Radars say it should be raining here right now (and should have for the past 20 mins) but not a single drop of rain has fallen.

Oh , there's not much more I can say to that except I'm sorry that the day has been a right off I terms of thunder etc .

It's fine I wasn't expecting anything today after the third time the MetOffice said I was going to get thunder.

Looks to be a thunderstorm in the Lowestoft/Southwold area of Suffolk at the moment. That'll make for a fun evening at this year's Latitude festival.

Frome direction having fun with funnel sightings, here in the east Sussex coast we’re just melting in 76% humidity

Curious to know if anyone else has spotted the non-electrical localized cell in Scotland, just south of Fort William. On first impressions it looks to be anaprop but satellite confirms there's something there.

I think I generalised a bit by saying Lowestoft. Being more specific, the cell in question would have been to the south of you in the Southwold/Halesworth area. I've attached a screenshot from the 2130 radar return which shows the cell at it's strongest. Looking at the radar in conjunction with lightningmaps, it seemed to be electrically active for about 20 mins or so before dying as it moved further inland.

Kicking off near Warminster now. Several close flashes and rumbles. Rain so torrential nearby that I could hear it while dry overhead!!

Was in the Royal Oak in Corsley this evening and power went out followed about a second later by a massive crack of thunder. Hit about 500m away.

Took my eye off the ball there. Not a drop of rain fell in Corton. Given the noise in our caravan its not surprising it drowned out any thunder.

@Luke Best
@AldercI think this was the Verwood storm, as seen from Kingston, in the Purbecks. Quite a remarkable cloud, looked like something from the tropics!

Are the chances of some lightning storms a bit better for London / SE tomorrow?

Yes - based on current modelling at least

You got it! Great view's from their garden, I always end up sky watching.
