Because activity has completely dropped off and a single strike has yet to hit land.

yea but this set up was always gunna be a disappointment. classic case of few decent flashes out to sea and then convective rain once it hits land, really nothing to get excited about

at least its cooled the air down

Nearly an hour up the hill and I’m not sorry we went. Saw some fabulous lightning out at sea, and only got a little bit wet ! If that was just the appetiser I’m getting socks and coffee for the main course

In these plume type setups you need to bear in mind where the modelled instability is and the fact that storms can pop up at a moments notice at any time. New storms could form at any point when we least expect it.

Let’s be honest, there’s a few flashes but this is a massive fail.

very poor, this is a massive disappointment after all the hype it has had for a week....i never take models seriously tbh after having 13 thunderstorm warnings in a row in my area that turned out to be glorious sunny days, load of rubbish they are lol....the best way is to just watch the sky and radar on the day

It’s nice to watch along live even if you aren’t there to see the action, like a little thunderstorm watch party hahaha

Have never ever seen an apocalypse forecast here. Maybe your expectations are a little high

Storms over but look what's out, it's been a while, although it really hasn't.

I expected nothing and so won’t be particularly disappointed.

wonder if this will be the first year in living memory I don’t record a single thunderclap or see a single lightning flash.

Happy for those on the coast though who are often just as storm starved as I am

a bit of realism maybe. This storm event got sooo much hype this week it was incredible. I was expecting the Apocalypse. Instead we have had a few distant flashes over the sea and not a single strike on the mainland. As i initially predicted this would be the case. Oh well, lets roll onto the next 'event' which will ultimately let us down again lol
