All the heavy rain seems to have died off in east Devon, it’s like there’s a shield around Exeter, any explanations? hope the lightening doesn’t do the same  ??‍♀️

Yep,  I'm looking out to my SE here in Torquay and the channel is lighting up. Allowing myself to get a little excited now
It's really gusty out there too.

Yes it's blowing a right gale at the moment.

Think the next few hours should be fun!

Seem to have 2 distinct cells flashing away Infront of me, one to the south east and one to the south west of Poole.

Been sat here for 1 1/2 hours tripod at the ready for everything just weakening when it gets in land at least off as far as here anyway but glad you guys on the south coast of been having a great light show

Not looking great here at the moment but some really heavy showers in the channel just about to hit the south coast but not sure if those will weaken again before they make it this far inland

Well after a few flashes and distant rumbles all has gone very quiet since the rain started, looks like i have brought the storm shield to chichester from our home in lincs.

@Allseasons-si I've got that cam open too. Saves looking out the window

Of course I'd rather be down on the clifftop where that camera is but can't get down there now.

Bit of a convective mess here now really, the west Sussex storm shield is in effect but not calling a bust just yet. New activity seems to be developing behind the rain shield. We'll see!

Currently 400 strikes / hour in the channel. It was at 6000 before. Try again another time.

seems to be a southern/ south west event rather then it hitting the far southeast as that cell that was coming to us is dissipating fast as it went over the water.

A lot of flashes now in the Channel with some good forks. I am probably seeing the same as the Barton on Sea cam as I am just a couple of miles west of there.

Well I'm off to sleep now, hopefully I don't miss any storms. Really don't expect the thunderstorms to travel this far inland so I'm getting ready for tomorrow as it looks like I have a better chance between 1pm and 8pm.
