Evening all, hope everyone is well! Just up at devil's dyke in West Sussex which is my first port of call in these situations and it's starting to look like things are coming together. On a clear day the Isle of Wight is visible easily so I have a great vantage point here. Heard 3 or 4 deep rumbles of thunder in the last 5mins and the skies are really starting to look pretty moody now! Good luck to all who are chasing tonight, let's hope this lot holds together or even better intensifies more!!

Do you just pick a number out from thin air and stick to it ?

I made an average from the Models earlier and stuck to it, probably should be downgraded to about 20% but I'm holding out hope.

Was a while back now, but definitely a CG but with two 45 degree forks coming off it if that makes sense

Seen more flashes, and a few deep rumbles, but we seem to be in a lull ATm

Yeah, a few distant flashes since, mostly to the SW but one to the south also.

Had to zoom off to work and back to pick something up, North of Dorchester. Great seeing the sky on the way back to the coast. Saw a couple of bright flashes and a big CG out to sea. Looks good.

Big drops of rain just starting to fall

Thundery rain or elevated lightning?

The most intense storms don't seem to be crossing the channel..

A possible good sign I’ve noticed is that convection is kicking off behind this band too, perhaps in association with the NW France MCS outflow boundary.

Hi gang ,best of luck for all ,im hoping for fireworks here on west mendip. Just watching film that finishes at 11pm, as all Aerials will be pulled out after that ,plus cutlery well hidden, and chimney blocked off to prevent Soot falling if we get a big Bang ,my lady friend Jean is terrified of storms so i must stay in controll of myself , take care all  Legritter.

I am currently approaching Winchester on route to the south coast. I am praying hard for a night time light show over the sea.

With night time fast approaching, I can see more lightning directly to my south, but it's way out to sea, nocturnal cooling  might possibly come into play, as  it's usually around this time of the daily cycle I have noticed Storms in the channel suddenly spark into like

I'm fairly new to this whole storm thing so I'm not an expert but these clouds near Portsmouth look fairly promising, right? (not sure how good the resolution will be because it was taken on my phone but fingers crossed)

I'm Tophill on Portland facing the channel seen quite a few flashes and almost constant rumbling thunder. It seems to be a lull at the moment. But can still hear rumbles in the distance.

Heaviest rain is developing along the frontal boundary, will push north through the early hours.

Plenty of sheet lightning to be seen on the Cherbourg Le Port Webcam. No idea how to download it on to this site ? However , looks good with lashings of rain .!
