Yes Tim  , think it was just starting to fade as it moved further south over wgc with the main area moving se. Still some good dark shelf clouds and still fair bit of L & T. Just caught a small bit on phone , was rapidly running out of battery by then

Those storms looked so good until they instantly died. Had a few drops of rain, a bit of distant thunder earlier but still no storms here since one grazed us in April. Disappointing to say the least.

Great stuff! I've never seen green hail tint in the UK!

Got a nice video of the thunder before the rain started.

You know you’re no longer ‘young’ when you watch a video like that and think “blimey, nobody is getting the washing in”

Any thoughts on Saturday’s Sunday’s potential widespread storms ?

Picked up an intense storm between Stamford and Corby early evening time. Lots of thunder, occasional visible lightning, the odd big CG with explosive thunder that nearly gave me heart attack and crazy rain, winds and hail. Not as big hail as the storms in Essex but still a good marble sized.

Was watching the happenings over my old neck of the woods Wellingborough/Kettering and it was looking pretty intense (at least, on the radar)

Monday and yesterday's storms over different parts of Kent look so similar, only one missed me to the south and one missed me to the North.

I was in Maidstone yesterday it was horrendous. Heavy rain for nearly 3 hours, roads flooded, constant thunder. Got back to Ashford last night and it looked like it had been dry all day.

Models suggest that humidity will be down today compared to yesterday and any upper level support will be moving out of the UK. Personally I am not seeing dewpoints drop off too much and the overnight soundings do not look much drier than than the day before.

Similar pattern of low level wind convergence as previous days with Cumbria and London being areas of possible storm development.

Not totally convinced about the lack humidity and dry air compared to yesterday but the modelling has been pretty good in recent days.

Satellite images confirm upper level disturbance is mostly on its way out of the UK so storms like yesterday are unlikely.

I do hope for more days like yesterday in the SE.

The videos that have been floating around were just absolutely insane and not something you'd expect coming out of Essex and Kent. Downbursts of hail, tremendous rain. Absolutely mental.

A shame these homegrown storm days with that level of intensity are far and between in the SE.

I've linked one of the more notable videos I saw yesterday.

Friday night still looks promising for the south coast (the west is even still in the game with no eastward corrections as yet).

This will spew a lot of cloud up for Saturday so I'm thinking any convection that day will be limited. Sunday, on the other hand looks like it could have some homegrown storms across many parts, although not like the ones witnessed over the last two days.

More storms today for the South East. Day after day after day they get the storms, getting ridiculous now. Meanwhile we haven't had a raindrop in 6 weeks....
