So close yet so far, would be good if these storms tracked Northwards like they usually do sometimes

I’m too close to get any decent photographs - not complaining mind!!! So much thunder.

This is the anvil from these new storms!

OMG one of those cumulonimbus clouds in Norfolk has a ridiculous overshooting top. Definitely a contender for a severe storm.

Can see them storms from Ingoldmells in Lincolnshire where I am at the minute.

Just a few short lived pulse thundery showers here. You'd see the anvil go up hear a few rumbles then the anvil would dissipate. Only a few spots of rain here.

This is the western edge of the new Kent storms - they are back building and back building while I’m sat under the anvil.

Omg omg this is nuts. Constant thunder from this, and it’s spawning daughters on the back build.

And all I've got is stupid thundery rain from the stupid anvil.

I give up now, back to looking for live cams in Europe for a bit of action.

There's only one which was over Swaffham and is backbuilding towards KL.

Still, I heard half a dozen rumbles when it was 15 miles away so I guess that counts as a "storm".

Possibly new storms firing over W/N London. Hopefully they won’t be killed off by this train of storms to my South.

This is the anvil I’m sat under listening to the storm.

Would love it if someone could post a composite of all the lightning from today.

This is just amazing - sat in a deck chair, in the garden, with a rum and coke looking up the backside of this monster storm as it kicks out constant rumbles high up over my head! Just awesome!

Literally what I’ve been doing the past hour. Amazingly we have stayed rain free, whilst the other side of King’s Lynn has had an absolute hammering. Couldn’t be more perfect from a spectators point of view. A fair few CG bolts, but mostly intra cloud

As expected today, anvils to my east, moving SE, Derby area had the storms

I've been in Derby for work today...they're further east than that even, (when I was there, back home now.) Busy skies there but not a thing seen or heard.

There’s been no general direction with these whatsoever over the past hour. Literally like a storm lottery at the moment. Further into the evening, there may be some more general organisation and direction ESE as the trough moves through.

Ok so some old towers really could do with being demolished in Croydon.  Except for the multistory I'm standing on looking west.

Never saw a single flash, and only one decent rumble whilst it was sitting over Swaffham

Hey ho, there's still August and then on to 2022....
