Hmm - activity seems to be to the east and north of Reigate.  A week last Monday, it was immediately to the west of us!  I'm watching with interest, but I wonder if we're going to be out of it today.

Huge mass over Haverhill south of Cambridge.

Yeap your right ,what seemed to be west of me this morning is now shifted to my east to Hollingbourne well the other side of Maidstone ....but here in east tonbridge ...gusts ,strong gusts ...as I took that big rumble of thunder ..

ok who put 50p in Bedfords storm shield again?

Early days yet Zak, warning was from 1pm -midnight.

However, I have a wonderful vista from Peterborough round to Luton calls, and it's all forming 10 miles East.

The Cambridge East one now resembles at MCS, new tops going up around it.

Strange isn't it? Most of the time the convective forecasts are literally bang on, but Norfolk seems to be an issue!

Norfolk was always an issue going right back in time :-),but when you do have a cracker least it's flat and you can see a few miles in like where I am

Yea same here, last 13 times in a row we have had thunderstorm warnings we have had a glorious sunny day lol.... No thunder here since August last year. And the South East/London are having their 18th day this year of thunderstorms already. Does seem to be the same areas which get them day after day

Been three years here since last good storm

wishing everyone good luck over there though to see some great lightning today

Looks like some storms are brewing here but I feel like our area is just going to be brewing storms rather than receiving storms

That cell west of Dereham is just back-building and remaining mostly stationary.

welp, looks like that's it for me today, had a few rumbles but those cells had problems

  • only a couple of rumbles
  • the cells weren't organised and became a mess
  • they weren't heading my way

But i'm completely fine as I got to see some lovely convection and yesterday so i'm not sad and I wish everyone else who is lucky to get an amazing storm experience

Having said that a cell has erupted just west of Dereham

Yep can see it from my sun trap garden. I'm about 4 miles  south from Dereham

Cell looking like it's going to miss me but still time for it to expand, needs to rain here to keep it cool rather than how hot it is now.

Think I just had a nice flash of lightning off in the distance.

It doesn't look good for west London with everything well of east of here. I wish this westerly flow would stop.

50 miles away from its western edge....

Enormous and constant back building.

Been rumbling away for about the last 45 minutes but not seen any lightning. Had about 10 minutes of fat rain but skies are clearing again now.
