I can already see some CBs to my NNE! I'm currently filming a timelapse of them so I may post it here later.

Rain seems to be shown near Exeter and Cullompton way or is it thunder flies? I was under the impression that storms / rain etc were to be confined to the east of the country.

I really should time lapse this. Can't believe how quickly this has gone up in Hinckley 16267807311858342695499042082849.thumb.jpg.10e5aa8cf573be4a7f1d298a8c7f5a48.jpg

Some dark bases here in Grenoside. Wouldn't be surprised if we caught a downpour but I expect the humdingers to stay south ⚡

Very oppressive today with no breeze to relieve

Fairly sure I can hear thunder here, it's not bin day so that's one alternative ruled out anyway

Yep having reports of thunder here as well. Not here in Greno as we're north of the city but signs on the radar of a couple of small cells forming.

We're just in the met office warning area but I can definitely see some development that looks promising to the North. Still at work though so can't get any better pictures...

Currently positioned in Stevenage, large towering cumulus to my WNW. A matter of time before it goes bang. Anyone know of any good vantage points nearby?

Hi Ben, head to Weston Hills …come off A1 1 junction north of Stevenage for Letchworth.. head towards baldock to next roundabout and take a right onto A505. Follow your nose for a mile and you will come to a big hill (weston hills) with a Mc Donald’s at the bottom.. might see you there !

Thanks, this is big help! Despite being a confident/regular long distance driver, I've never actually be around N London/E Anglia sorta way so this is so handy! Anyone, feel free to drop me a message if you're likely to be out nearby!

A11 is good now it's dualled, plenty of "off" roads should you need to reposition at any time. Don't think I'll be able to get out today as my sister is coming up from Surrey, so I'll have to assume any storms will oblige and head over my way.

Central barrier replacement on A14 nr Newmarket can cause a bit of a bottleneck in rush hour (or what passes for rush hour!)

First shower of the day nr Ely/Newmarket. Quite slow moving judging by the radar loop.

Glad to report here in Reigate there is instability encroaching from the north and west. Cumulus towers beginning to form and go up. To the east and south still clear skies. Looks like the air mass is beginning to change here but it's also possible it may stall. Shall let you know.
