Which direction is that stuff moving in? Hard to tell looking at Radar, cant decide whether to jump in car or stay put.

Couple of visible flashes and loud, crackly rumbles!

Storms over London appear to be CZ generated given the linear form. Couple of localised showers not too far from here but haven’t got anywhere like the same level of development compared to the London storms. Let’s see what happens.

My Reigate cell was active for a while. It's a wobbly squall line on the convergence and the activity is moving slowly from north-east to south-west down the line, while the convergence is holding position. It may drift NW eventually. I am not sure if it will back build. Not a lot of definition in the clouds - just grey and wet.

A couple of nice CG strikes, one definitely a positive. (The one that would have woken our daughter up in her work place...).

Currently at the top of ditchling beacon in East Sussex and its looking like things are starting to get going between Seaford and Uckfield. Heard some deep rumbles and the sky looks pretty decent!

There was a brief but noticeable uptick in frequency of the rumbles/occasional flashes about 15 minutes ago, then it abruptly went quiet again. Such is the way with pulse convection! Loads of rainfall here though, must be approaching a total of 13-15mm since 13:00 by now...

Any ideas how far north these storms may travel? I guess not overly far, wondering if they may work there way as far as Northants?

I suppose I can't have two CZs for the price of one. Huh.  Thanks for the update! Not my strength so nice to learn

Thunder rumbling around the Reigate area still.

If I was working in the office today I’d be right under that torrential storm over C London. As it is, naff all.

Lol as I was writing that, just heard distant peel from the C London storms lol. Suppose that counts as a thunder day

In all seriousness those rainfall rates are alarming and those storms not moving - could prove problematic in those areas under those storms! As yet just sprinkles of rain here from defunct showers. Plus those distant peels are quite something - positive strikes me thinking.
