I wonder if we're in a bit of a convergence zone if that's the right term, ~ checking the satellite I can see cloud moving Northwards from France, and also clouds heading southwardly from North Wales/ Isle of Man

Certainly is humid out there, and feels particularly hot when the sun pokes out!

Intense rainfall in a few hours from slow-moving downpour late morning and early afternoon across Bournemouth area and surrounding parts of Dorset has led to some flash flooding. Radar loop below shows between 10am-2am shows it was particularly persistent and heavy, no thunder though

shows the atmosphere is loaded with moisture and charged for storms.

The very definition of a localised shower is currently dumping heavy-very heavy convective rainfall here

It's eased away there now thankfully. But further east over east Hampshire there are some slow-moving downpours that have been on the go for a while.

Some closer rumbles here, Presumably it's the cell that's fired close to Hastings

Sunny and almost 22°C. You can feel the energy building up! I just hope something develops later.

Thunder heard in Reigate!  A cell appears to have lofted very swiftly here. Heavy rain, too. I think that may be my first thunder of 2021. Shows what an awful year it has been for many of us!

More flashes and rumbles - some quite sharp. Our kitten / cat (a year old) has never heard thunder before!

Some nice cloud to ground now! I think one landed close to where our daughter is working. That would have woken her up!
