Active and intense looking storm over Ashbourne, moving N over the Peak District, would have been all over that!

Sultry out there now as the previous shower just merely wet the ground. Lots of tall towers around and some distant cumulonimbus as well. Cracking skies!

Eyeing up the storm approaching the Peak District but wary of the hill o' death killing the poor thing

Same old places getting storms again I see.

Not too bothered about today though because if storms are going to come I would rather they came during the night time.

Yes, a pretty potent cell just south of Lincoln at the moment, I haven't seen much lightning (it must be mainly cloud-to-cloud lightning) but thunder has been rumbling very frequently for the past 10-15 minutes.

Just too far north and showers fizzling out too a few spots of light rain as they reach here.

Back home now, amazing clouds on the journey on the M1 with torrential downpours!

Nottingham seems to be in the middle of all of it, yet I’ve heard no thunder

It’s working on it here. But think we’ll just get a load or rain. Seems to have drifted east of us. Northwich and knutsford seem to be getting it.

Looks like that cell approaching Sheffield is about to split. Watch the right hand side (E side) of the storm over the next half an hour! Could get interesting.

I remember having that kind of pain on 27 May 2017.  I was living in Exeter back then, but had gone to my parents' house in the Thirsk area and so missed a big thunderstorm over the South West.  And then when the Thirsk area got hit by a big thunderstorm the next day, I was visiting grandparents in South Shields and so missed that one as well!

So far it's fair to say that Lincoln has been serving me pretty well since I moved here on the 9th April.

I'm humbly grateful for the 2 rumbles of thunder earlier. In Norfolk that counts as an epic storm....
