Please be careful what you wish for. I was wishing for thunder and lightning today and bit off more than I can chew. Lightning bolt hit my house and fried all the electrics. Luckily me and my family are okay though.

I'm glad you are okay this tne main thing but I'm sorry for the destruction of your house.

Looked promising earlier here in herts but now just layered stratus cloud with the odd thicker patch. Current radar shows a dearth of activity generally in the south east with a couple of exceptions. Very disappointing. Still very humid. Perhaps later although this cloud is going to have to clear.....

Liam Burge,  glad you and family ok. You spend ages looking and longing for storms then that happens. Hope damage not too severe...

I could have got it worse. My neighbours house unfortunately got hit aswell and they got a hole in their roof. I would take a picture but I don't want to invade their privacy right now.

Grey and Misty this morning. Then we had brilliant sunshine for about twenty minutes which spurred on the clouds. Now quite thick cloud cover with intermittent sunshine. I think this evening is going to be good for storms here!

Glad to hear you are okay Liam Burge

Noticed the clouds had gone very dark to my south west, here in Wrexham. Took this pic and then there was a loud rolling grumble of thunder lol.

Looks like convection is in full swing now over South Shropshire - strong sunshine and clouds bubbling up dramatically in Southern and Western directions

A dramatic increase in sferics on the radio now. One every few seconds. Some of them within 100 km.

Well that was a strange half an hour.

storm clouds were brewing strong echoes on the radar literally 15 minutes West of here

Took photos of some really nice clouds and some short handheld timelapse

As soon as the clouds got overhead I just dissipated and became low cloud

no storms or rain here at the moment

Looks like we are just out of the conversion zone at present but good luck to everybody else on the storms stay safe too

Pretty regular Thunder rumbling away to my  north west now (towards Holt way)

Had a massive heavy shower but sun trying to come out. Hopefully will kick things off again. Very humid!

I'm not far from Mansfield, with the idea to head east into Lincolnshire for anything that forms later.

Brief but heavy shower just passed through. A very busy sky here in the West Midlands as they develop right over us.

Looking like it could go either way at the moment, can they continue to grow before they move away?
