Disappointing so far. We need the echoes in the channel to light up soon otherwise it's game over.

You're about 7 hours too early to be throwing in the towel.

Earlier on I would've agreed with you, but runs including 15z UKV have completely given up on the idea of a round 2 in the early hours. Looking at the radar though, there could indeed be multiple rounds through the night.

Aside from the lightning risk, a very wet start to the night!

I'd always trust radar over modelling.

Wind suddenly picked up here (Presumably outflow) and large drops of light-moderate convective rain are falling. Just heard a rumble too

First few rumbles of thunder here in Eastbourne after a real heavy shower

It’s lightning like crazy in the sea. Nearly got blown over on the beach

Radar is looking very good coming out of NW France!

Very disappointing here right now. Looking out into the channel and all I can see is mist and cloud. The rain has also been relentless, though it is refreshing after the heat of today. I might pop home and come back when it’s darker.

Nocturnal cooling aloft after dark may increase lightning activity later, sometimes it takes a while to get going until cloud tops cool sufficiently. Seen this many times.

Lots of cells popping up over NW France as increasingly large scale ascent and cooling aloft of NE edge of plume takes place, as upper trough encroaches from the west.

Certainly has that feel about it, it's really calm here in Highcliffe, same feeling I had on July 3rd 2015, but not as warm, if the wind suddenly picks up like it did then, I think we will get some quick intensification if you ask me.

I'm more interested in keeping an eye on NW France. I always find these situations very hard to predict, Radar watching is the best bet.

Nice back building occurring behind main band. And a little further west too.......

Had an epic 20 drops of rain a bit earlier, might get some rain later or even a distant few flashes but think I'm well out of it,still hope though albeit slim

100% Growing quickly. The one South of Weymouth is also trying right now. Good potential for later coming up!

We literally just came out for an icecream and to see the clouds and it just suddenly launched. Feeling a little trapped in one of the old Victorian beach shelters now
