10th June 2021 solar eclipse

A partial solar eclipse will be visible from the UK during the late morning (about 10.06am) to the start of the afternoon on the 10th June( about 12.30pm). The further north and west, you are, the greater the eclipse will be as can be seen from the 3 images of maximum eclipse from London, Manchester and Glasgow respectively. The next partial solar eclipse after this one is 25th October next year.

Quite a bit of cloud here but there are breaks in it. Hopefully to see at least some glimpses come about 10.10am

Some good break in the cloud developing along north Wales coast.

A mixed affair in Newcastle, periods of cloud and then some breaks. Have the phone out doing a time-lapse but, given the lack of settings options, a thin cloud cover would probably work best for me

Totally overcast here, in a month with 79hrs of sunshine in the first 9 days. Its like the weather knew an eclipse was on.

Someone's been doing a sunshine-dance here as it was overcast all morning and I thought for sure today was going to be a "no-show", on a whim I headed out into the garden with the D3100 and there it was at 11:38am  sat24 has been interesting to look at too with the penumbral shadow of the moon darkening the skies of the N.Atlantic.

Had a good look before with my eclipse glasses. It was only a very slight occultation here though.

Mexico 2024 is my next big eclipse goal.

Only 501 days left to see another Partial Eclipse from the UK if you missed it this time  2026 is a great chance for Europe with Totality passing through Western Iceland and mainland Spain.

Of course 30 minutes after it ended it turned sunny. Another one missed!

The sheet of cloud broke up just in time here in Reading giving a clear view about half the time including around the time of maximum eclipse.

Sounds like a plan. The last one we saw was the total eclipse in 2017 in rural Idaho. We had hoped to go to Chile for last year's but if course it wasn't exactly the time to travel. Meanwhile, we got clear skies for much of today's partial eclipse here in Reading.
