Looks we are a doomed today. Paying for 2days of sun with 3 or 4 days of completely overcast skies! Very cold and autumnal feel outside this morning.

Another weekend and yet another cool cloudy start here in Norfolk, we have even had some showers this morning….apparently light says the forecast,,um no it was a heavy shower did last a few mins. Next week looks appalling yet again for this side of the UK, I feel so sorry for the holiday makers who have come from the western side of UK to holiday here.  
 

So this stuck in the rut pattern that’s been in place since April will annoying continue into Autumn…

Have to go back to 2014 for a equivalent  summer. This August hasn't even reached 24 c here. At the moment 16.3c and cloudy.

We haven't reached 24 degrees here in Reading since 23 July, and right now it looks unlikely again before next year. I recall 2014 having a much better summer than this year - a truly dire August bookended by the two ex-hurricanes that brought a change at each end of the month but otherwise a pretty decent summer, and the weather picked up nicely in September.

It's interesting to see the Manchester summer index indicating a fairly decent season there - I guess because of the persistent cut-off lows to the south in June and early July 150 miles has made a big difference - that period was pretty miserable down here. I'd say this summer has been the worst since 2012 here (a rough analogue I can think of is 2011 with its long spells of showery weather) and we had a pretty dreadful May too. At least 2011 had a glorious spring.

Honestly the outlook is perfect. 19-22 by day and around 10-12 by night. Dry and Sunny. Good for sleeping and going on about your day without feeling fatigued.

Vile here again in Prague. Grey skies, scattered heavy showers and a measly 15°C. At least the strong winds have abated. Can’t wait for my 2 weeks in S Spain from next weekend (currently a lovely 32°C there).

Well, August drawing to an end. Looking at this month's temps, seems like the high for Brentwood, Essex was.....23C. That's insultingly low, pathetically low. I can't even remember the last time we had a day that was say 26C. I've forgotten what summer should actually feel like. Maybe it should feel like this though, and we've just become acclimatised to temps in the mid twenties to thirties.
