A dry start with patchy cloud and ground frost

A dry night with clear periods and yet another ground frost. A sunny start to the morning but cloud increased rapidly from 0700 g.m.t and it's now mainly cloudy with a few sunny intervals.

Clear spells overnight, widespread ground frost  and just missing an air frost. Short shower which was possibly wintry around dawn. Sunny spells this morning, cloud bubbling up quickly producing showers in the area. A few spots of rain here at obs.

Now 24 ground frosts here this April, obliterating the local record which stood at 17 in 1991 and 2016. Air frost record also broken with 12. Previous record was 11 in 2016.

A cool afternoon with a couple of light showers. There was a large temperature drop in these showers despite being very light showing how cold the air is without the sun to warm it up.

wettest day of the month with 1.2 mm, this afternoon, still probably a record dry month but not yet checked
